Burtis “Bud” Parrish, 90, of Gosport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville. Bud was born on the family farm in Spencer on January 14, 1932 to T.J. Parrish and Grace E. (Hendershot) Parrish. Bud graduated from Spencer High School in 1952 and proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Bud worked at the Gosport Manufacturing (King Tarpaulin) and then for the Spencer Owen Community Schools.

Bud is survived by his children, Mark (Barbara) Parrish, Wendy (Rick) Sparks, grandchildren, Michele (Jarrod) Haltom, Ashlee Sparks, great-grandchildren, Addy Haltom, Kyndell Haltom, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Parrish, siblings, infant Edith Lucille Parrish, Cecil Parrish, Marion Parrish, Alberta Hollaway, Sonny Parrish, Louise Reeder, and Pauline Carpenter.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer. Military rites will be conducted by the Owen County Honor Guard. Burial will take place in Hudson Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
