Gilbert Eugene “Gib” Edwards, 87, of Spencer, IN passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at McCormick”s Creek Rehabilitation Center. Born January 10, 1936 in Spencer, he was the son of the late Robert Cleo and Hazel (Turner) Edwards. He graduated from Spencer High School.

Gilbert retired from RCA in Bloomington after many years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force , a member of American Legion Post # 285 and VFW Post # 1405 in Spencer. He enjoyed genealogy and drinking beer.

He is survived by two brothers, Herman Phillip Edwards and James Marvin Edwards Sr. and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by; his parents and seven siblings, Herschel Frank Edwards, Sherry Ann Edwards, Doris Irene Edwards, Richard Cleo Edwards, Nancy Jane Edwards, Charles William Edwards and Howard Keith Edwards.

There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at a later date in River Hill cemetery.

RIP uncle Gibb. Going to miss you very much. Fly high. Until we meet again.

Dear Jim and Family, Please accept my sincere condolences at Gibs' passing. I rode in the same van as Gib did to work. Loved his dry sense of humour. Have thought of him often. So sad he's gone now.. May you all have peace at this time.

Love you Uncle Gib, You were always fun, loved your stories. And all the great times we had. And your love you had for family was the best. I am proud to call you were my Uncle. RIP
