Connie Pipkins (formerly Pierce) left a message on January 5, 2022:
Butch was my father-in-law for 5 years. He will always be my daughters' step Papaw in our hearts. He was definitely one of a kind. He loved to work and was so proud to be Greene County's surveyor for so many years. He hated being disabled by his illnesses and having to retire due to health problems. It seemed he knew nearly everybody in this county. He watched his step-kids, myself, our high school friends and all of our collected children grow up. For not having any children, he was kind of a step dad/ grandpa to so many of us. he will be greatly missed. He never failed to hug me and whisper in my ear...."I love you girl! I wish you were back". My heart is broken. Love Connie

Sharla and Mark Buckley left a message on January 2, 2022:
Butch will be missed. I don’t think either of us have seen Butch since the Front Porch closed. We would see him in there and visit just about every week. He always liked to torment me by call me “Farla” instead of Sharla. He started doing that when I was just a young girl and continued to do so throughout the years. Sincere condolences to Ellen and family.
