Peggy I. (Griffin) Hauser, 91, of Patricksburg, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Peggy was born in Paris, Illinois, on March 7, 1930 to Willard F. Griffin and Sarah E. (Zimmerly) Griffin. Peggy graduated from Paris High School in Illinois in 1948. Peggy married Richard L. Hauser on November 28, 1959, and together they raised a wonderful, loving family. She belonged to Antioch Christian Church and was once active in the Coal City V.F.W. Auxiliary. Peggy enjoyed watching tv, reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. Peggy was known as the Patricksburg Elementary School secretary, nurse and “recess lady” for over twenty years.
Peggy is survived by her children, Kim Hauser, Linna (Craig) Joseph, David (Katie) Hauser, one grandchild, Madeline Hauser, and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Patricia Goris, brother-in-law, Lester Goris, one grandchild, Zachary Hauser, and special brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Ruth and Jasper Dirlam, Bill and Betty Hauser.
Funeral services are 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer. Pastor Chris Gehring will officiate. Burial will follow in Patricksburg Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, on Thursday at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Antioch Christian Church or the Patricksburg Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
